On drawing the line

I'm all for self-improvement. Investing the time to learn new things into adulthood has had a positive impact on my life, but everyone has a different threshold for the value add vs inconvenience.

This has been true in both my professional and personal life, from learning a new language to finding a new favorite recipe.

I draw the line however at changing how I tie my shoelaces. Once YouTube starts recommending a better approach to something I learned 30 years ago, I'm fully out. As imperfect as it is, I refuse to adjust something so ingrained in my muscle memory.
